About me:

Hey, my name is Hakeem. I was born in June 1995. I’m a Cancer rising (for those who care). I was brought up in a small but rich neighborhood in the bay area about 45 minutes away from San Francisco. Family life was hard due to both of my parents having extremely high expectations of me even at a young age. Both my parents came overseas from Libya, so their way of living is extremely different compared to families here in the U.S. I wouldn’t really say I have any kind of gifts or talents but some people say I am extremely humble and kind (I don’t know what they see though). I can definitely say that I’ve struggled growing up. I had to face all sorts of prejudice from other kids because of multiple things like my skin color, religious practices, common etiquette etc. I guess a big breakthrough I’ve had was breaking the big mental block I had that stopped me from doing the most simple things like waking up for school, preparing meals for the future, doing errands, cleaning the house etc. I’m still currently struggling with it from time to time but its a major improvement compared to the previous years.
